Highest mean temperatures are experienced in February and lowest mean temperatures in July. The highest maximum temperatures occur in October in association with Berg wind conditions. Temperature is highly variable in any particular area of Durban as a result of topography, type of surface cover, and artificial heat production due to combustion activities in industries and motor vehicles.
