Notes to the data sources :

a)

Diagrams showing results of atmospheric pollution measurements in 1996 (mean values). Primary data is found in the central IOZIP database (at IMIP). Sources of data on heavy metals are: Czech Hydrometeorological Institute, Municipal Hygienic Institute of the City of Prague, National Health Institute, Design Institute of Trafficand Engineering Transport. Dust fallout data was obtained from the Municipal Hygienic Institute of the City of Prague.

b)

Diagrams showing results of atmospheric pollution measurements in 1996 (mean values, 95% quantils) taken by the AIM network and manually operated stations (including those operated by the Public Health and Hygienic Service). Primary data is found in the central IOZIP database (at IMIP). The source of data is the Czech Hydrometeorological Institute - Air Quality Information System.

c)

Maps based on results of mobile measurements conducted by the National Health Institute between May 1994 and May 1996. Results derived from a network of measurement points have been transformed into pollution contour lines for each harmful substance in the GIS system.

d)

Maps based on data found in databases of atmospheric pollution sources built in accordance with the REZZO 1 - 4 methodology. (Register of Emission and Atmospheric Pollution Sources). The assessment of large and medium-sized air pollution sources (REZZO 1 a 2) is based on information on payers of air pollution charges in 1996. The data in IMIP databases has been acquired in the framework of the operation of the IOZIP system (IMIP, M.PYS) or prepared using primary information provided by other organizations (Czech Hydrometeorological Institute - REZZO 1,Municipal Authority of the City of Prague - REZZO 2, Czech Statistical Bureau, Prague Gasworks, etc.). The data is used, inter alia, for simulated air quality calculations (ATEM).
