How is the INSTRUMENT
applied to solve City environmental problems ?
Environmental Information System of Prague (IOZIP) is in
place. Its outputs include not only databases of graphic and
alpha-numerical data but also standardized print outputs such as the
yearbook you are reading, specific-purpose publications,
environmental maps or various maps of Prague’s Atlas of the
Environment etc. The hard-copy outputs are also available as
hypertext publications on CD-ROMs or on the Internet.
How is the INSTRUMENT
developed in the City in general ?]
The Institute of Municipal Informatics
of the City of Prague (IMIP) is an institution responsible for
activities aimed at supporting the development of the city’s
information systems. These include not only the initiation of the
development of a municipal computer network (now being developed by
PragoNet), selected services (such as electronic mail or
administration of the municipal WWW server) or compilation of
digital maps (Standard Digital Map of Prague, a set of Digital
Reference Maps, orthophotomaps), and publication activities, but
also the formulation of an overall concept of the Municipal
Information System of the City of Prague or the administration and
management of selected data on the city which is crucial for
decision-making and managing Prague’s development.
