SUPPORTING THE
FAMILIES
Family groups are grounded
in three neighborhood areas to support families and parenting.
Project partners are social welfare (home-service, day care) and
health sector. The aim is to get in touch with the families in risk,
give the parents basic skills and knowledge in living as a family
(cooking, shopping, playing with children etc.), giving the children
possibilities to play and communicate with children of the same age
and parents with other adults, strengthen the neighborhood network,
give the civil servants in the area new ways to help the
families.
The interventions have
created new "packages" to support the families and avoid children
taken in custody. The feedback from the groups and workers has been
positive.
